Engine: yamaha outboard 2.5 Shopping experience: Well, when I asked questions about delay, I received prompt polite replies. That was good. But the small part I ordered was listed as shipping in 3-5 days. I ordered it on 6 August, and it arrived 28 September. I was able to get by without it for summer season, but... Repair difficulty: Easy Repair time: 30 to 60 mins Repair symptoms: Steering friction adjustor was locking up. Crowley engine diagrams and parts lists were good. Identified part (very small and) that I needed to replace (Friction plate). Ordered the part from Crowley on 6 August. The availability time was listed as 3-5 days, so I figured I'd have it in a week to 10 days. It arrived 28 September. Queries to Crowley about delivery time were politely answered, but always optimistic. I could get by with engine for the season, but.... I'd use Crowley again, but if part is vital I'd check on realistic availability in advance.
