Engine: Yamaha 1991 4HP two stroke 4MSHP Shopping experience: Rebuilding a 28 year old 4HP Yamaha motor. Amazing to me that both Crowley and Yamaha extend support for this engine. Most parts were in stock but one part had to be ordered from Yamaha. Very good service and communication from Jimmy Sawh at Crowley! Repair difficulty: Easy Repair time: More than 4 hours Repair symptoms: Overheating Cleaned out nearly the entire cooling system that was gummed up with corrosion and salt. Took more than 4 hours because I took my time and restored finishes wherever possible. Fun project for those mechanically inclined.
