Repair difficulty: Hard Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: Bent prop shaft Bought a new to me boat that turned out to have a bent propeller shaft. I called my local shop who wanted nearly $1300 for the repair. A few minutes studying their online parts diagrams and it was clear the job could be done at home. Less than $300 in parts showed up in less than 3 days. I was able to complete the entire job in a little over two hours, without special tools.
