Engine: 1987 Mercury 60 Shopping experience: Excellent service as always. Good quality parts, amazing selection and prompt shipping. Repair difficulty: Medium Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: poor water pump output, rough idle Replacing the water pump impellor last year just after purchasing the motor I noticed a lot of damage to the housing, melted plastic and rubber and a missing gasket. Someone has really overheated the water pump. I was able to purchase all the parts I needed to rebuild the entire pump. Now the motor has a steady, strong pee of water even at idle, which it wasn't able to do before. Also cleaned both carburetors and replaced the float and needle assembly in both. Parts fit well and the plastic floats were a nice upgrade to the old foam floats. Motor fires right up and idle is nice and smooth. Can't wait to get to the lake and try it out.
