Engine: 25 hp. yamaha 1992 model Shopping experience: good service / good up date info on orders. Repair difficulty: Medium Repair time: More than 4 hours Repair symptoms: rebuild engine disassembled had to bore engine block installed new pistons / rings - bearings + seals . had to rebiuld crank shaft+ w pump
Engine: Yamaha ELRW 25 hp Shopping experience: No problems whatsoever. Repair difficulty: Medium Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: tilt mechanism was missing parts Using the online diagram for these parts I was able to identify what I needed; however, when it came time to install them it was obvious that the diagram was misleading. Placing them exactly as shown resulted in the tilt not locking as it is supposed to. It took some head scratching, but I was able to figure it out and get it working. In all fairness, it is not unusual for this to happen. If I had beeen able to look at a properly functioning unit I could have more easily been able to make the repair.
