Engine: Yamaha 9.9 Shopping experience: Fast shipping Repair difficulty: Medium Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: Tiller shift cable broke Initially, I removed the engine cover and used a crescent wrench to operate the shift arm to get me back in to port. I bought a new shift lever cable but then decided to add the engine mounted lever as a backup in case the cable ever broke again.
