Engine: Yamaha 25 Hp OB Shopping experience: I tried to order a shifting rod for my Yamaha 25 hp, the rod in the diagram was the wrong part number, after waiting two weeks to receive it, I had to wait yet another three weeks to get the right rod sent to me. Terrible Repair difficulty: Medium Repair time: 1 to 2 hours Repair symptoms: Shift rod broke Two ways to replace this, 1.Remove the engine block 2.File down the plastic just enough to pull the rod out(a gasket goes into place) 2 will save you hours of maintenance and possibly shearing bolts
