I have an IGX800 Honda motor and switched from a lead acid battery to a Lithium Iron battery. The motor stopped running and displayed a flashing red light which I believe meant a high voltage condition. The motor started again and eventually blew the 15 amp fuse. The motor would no longer run and the fuse would blow again even with the switch off unless I disconnected the ECU. I replaced the ECU and also the voltage regulator in case it was bad too and could potentially blow a new ECU. Not sure if I had to replace the voltage regulator but for an extra $100 it was worth not taking a chance. I switched back to a lead acid battery and everything works great again. The lithium Iron battery is a little bit higher voltage and I will never try that again. The Lithium battery worked fine with my Honda GX670 for a little while but I would not recommend trying it on an IGX800.
