New Updates to Our Diagrams - March 1st, 2024

At Crowley Marine, we’re committed to providing you with the smoothest experience possible when you order parts online. This is why we’re constantly making changes to our website to improve functionality, add new features, and ensure that you find exactly what you need with ease. Our latest update to the diagrams layout is here, and we believe you'll appreciate these changes. They are a direct result of the feedback you've provided over the past few months.

We Value Your Feedback

First up, a huge thank you for taking the time to share your insights about our website. Every comment, every suggestion you've sent our way is more than appreciated. We read every one of them carefully, and made changes as needed.

Your feedback sparked a period of experimentation and innovation within our team. We've been hard at work, tweaking and testing various features of our diagrams layout to make it more user-friendly. We’ve identified key areas for improvement, and we want to share the specifics of these updates with you today.

What’s New

  • Change view: For those of you who preferred the older-style diagrams, we heard you. You now have the ability to change from the new horizontal view, to the classic vertical layout. We also revamped the product slots for better visibility when scrolling through the parts list.

  • Fixed Printing Format: Having a physical copy is always useful. We made sure to fix the format of our printed diagrams so that they are correctly aligned within the page.

  • Fixed Navigation of “Back to All Diagrams for this model” button: We’ve noticed an issue where the user would have to click multiple times to get back to the main diagrams page. Now, a single click will take you back, eliminating the need for repetitive clicking.

  • Improved Diagram Visibility on Mobile: Diagrams are now displayed larger on mobile devices, offering greater visibility and ease of use.

  • Disabled Auto-Scrolling: Diagrams will no longer move automatically when you scroll. This will only happen when you click the "Show on diagram" buttons, for a more intentional and focused interaction.

  • Enhanced part number indicator: The arrows that highlighted item numbers in the exploded view could sometimes block important information. We implemented a new circular design for improved visibility.

Upcoming fixes

With the new update, you might encounter some small bugs, but don’t worry, we’re already working on them. Some of these include:

  • Zoom not working as intended: Zoom in and out buttons being used may display undesired behavior.

  • Items missing part numbers on diagrams: Some parts might be missing their respective number, in specific models. While we are actively working on this, we currently have no ETA for its resolution. If you encounter this issue please contact our Support team so they can provide you with immediate assistance.

We’re Not Done Yet

Additionally, we were thinking about bringing back a few features from the past:

  • Pop-up window within exploded view: This feature allowed you to view part numbers in the exploded view as a pop-up, so you can reference numbers without scrolling.

  • Full-screen diagrams: Another potential feature is the full screen option within the exploded view, such as the one we implemented in the Crowley Marine App. You can download our App using the following links: iOS / Android.
